Detour update:

Loop 12 North Bridge Closure from September 10 - October 21
 
The Loop 12 northbound frontage road bridge at SH 114 will be closed beginning Saturday, Sept. 10 through Oct. 21, 2011, to accommodate final construction of east & westbound frontage roads at Loop 12 & SH 114.
 
Beginning Saturday morning, traffic headed toward westbound SH 114 from northbound Loop 12 will be detoured. Motorists will take the existing exit to SH 114 from northbound Loop 12. At the frontage road intersection, motorists will turn right onto the eastbound SH 114 frontage road and enter the SH 114 continue to the Spur 482/Story Road entrance. This entrance ramp is a “double clover leaf” configuration and traffic will travel through it without stopping to the westbound SH 114 mainlanes.

This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the traveling public and workers while the new frontage road intersection at Loop 12/SH 114 is being completed.  Portable message boards were placed in advance to inform the traveling public of the closure.
 
This is part of the $224 million project to reconstruct the Loop 12/SH 114 interchange. The project began in February 2009 and is expected to be complete by early summer of 2012.

TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this project as quickly and as safely as possible.

Main Campus (1845 East Northgate Drive)

From DFW Airport, north exit:
  • Take Highway 114 eastbound to the Tom Braniff Drive exit
  • Turn right onto Tom Braniff Drive
  • Take the first right into the UD campus
From DFW Airport, south exit:
  • Take Highway 183 eastbound to the Carl Road exit
  • Turn left onto Carl Road and travel north to Northgate Drive
  • Turn right onto Northgate Drive and travel east until you reach the UD campus
From either northbound or southbound Loop 12:
  • Take the Highway 183 westbound exit
  • Take Highway 183 to the Carl Road exit
  • Turn right onto Carl Road and travel north to Northgate Drive
  • Turn right onto Northgate Drive and travel east until you reach the UD campus
From Love Field:
  • Take a right onto Mockingbird Lane
  • Follow Mockingbird Lane to Highway 183
  • Take Highway 183 westbound to the Carl Road exit
  • Turn right onto Carl Road and travel north to Northgate Drive
  • Turn right onto Northgate Drive and travel east until you reach the UD campus
Graduate School of Management Administration Building (3115 Namur Drive)

From Highway 114 eastbound:
  • Take Highway 114 eastbound to the Rochelle/Riverside exit
  • Cross through the intersection and continue on the service road to Namur Drive
  • Turn right on Namur Drive, the administration building will be the first building at the end of the drive
From Highway 114 westbound:
  • Take Highway 114 westbound to the Rochelle/Riverside exit
  • Take a left on Rochelle and cross over the highway
  • Take a left onto the service road on the other side of the highway
  • Continue on the service road to Namur Drive
  • Turn right on Namur Drive, the administration building will be the first building at the end of the drive
From either northbound or southbound Loop 12:
  • Take the Highway 183 westbound exit
  • Take Highway 183 to the Carl Road exit
  • Turn right onto Carl Road and travel north to Northgate Drive
  • Turn left onto Northgate Drive and travel west until you reach Rochelle
  • Take a right on Rochelle and continue on until you reach the Highway 114 service road
  • Turn right onto the service road and continue on until you reach Namur Drive
  • Turn right on Namur Drive, the administration builing will be the first building at the end of the drive
