Princeton Review

The University of Dallas is one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the school in the 2012 edition of its popular guidebook “The Best 376 Colleges.”

University of Dallas was recognized with the following rankings in the 2012 edition:
  • Best of the West (one of 121 colleges and universities)
  • Best Schools for Biology Majors
  • #6 in the "Most Religious Students" category
  • #8 in the "Most Popular Study Abroad Program" category

Forbes
 
ForbesThe University of Dallas was named one of America’s Best Colleges in the annual rankings of public and private colleges by Forbes magazine. UD was honored with the following rankings in the 2011 edition:
  • #103 spot on the list of all 650 colleges and universities to have been recognized
  • #2 among the 29 Texas schools included in the rankings
  • #22 in the south category
  • #91 in the private colleges category

Fiske Guide to Colleges

The University of Dallas has been named as a Best Buy in the 2012 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges. As one of 49 public and private colleges and universities included on the list, the University of Dallas joins a small group of schools with this recognition.

Institute of International Education
 
The University of Dallas ranks high when it comes to the percentage of undergraduate students who study abroad for academic credit, according to the Institute of International Education (IIE). Due in large part to the number of students who spend a semester at the University's Rome campus, the organization, in its "Open Doors 2011 Report on International Educational Exchange," ranked UD:
  • #5 nationally among all master's institutions
"Master's Institutions" are categorized by the 2010 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as colleges and universities that generally award at least 50 master's degrees and fewer than 20 doctoral degrees each year.

PARADE

The University of Dallas was named to the PARADE College A-List in their Aug. 22 issue. The survey, comprised of feedback by high school counselors across the United States, recognized UD’s liberal arts program, and studio arts program as one of the top programs in the nation.
Political Theory Professors

In a national survey of political theory professors, the University of Dallas' Ph.D. program in political theory was ranked 28 out of 106 other Ph.D. programs. To read the article, click here. For more information about UD's Ph.D. program in political theory, click here.  
American Council of Trustees and Alumni

The University of Dallas received an “A” in the second-annual “What Will They Learn” college ratings announced by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, which bases its ratings in large part on how many of seven specified core course requirements an institution requires in its curriculum. UD was one of only 16 schools in the nation that included six of those categories in their general requirements, and one of only three schools in Texas. Of the 700 schools rated by ACTA, none required courses in all seven general education categories.
