How to Apply: Undergraduate Financial Aid
Students may apply for financial aid at the University of Dallas by applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). University of Dallas does not require the CSS Profile. If you have not been admitted to the University of Dallas, the Office Financial Aid will not be able to process your FAFSA.
Steps to Hassle-free Financial Aid:
• Get a PIN.
Before beginning the FAFSA, you should apply for a Federal Student Aid Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN will allow you to sign your FAFSA electronically. If you are providing parent information on the FAFSA, you and your parent each must apply for his or her own PIN.
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
You must complete the FAFSA each year that you wish to apply for aid. Since the FAFSA requires the previous year's taxes, we realize you may not have your taxes completed by January 1st. We suggest students and parents use estimated tax information. Once you have completed your taxes you may make necessary corrections online.
The priority deadline for all students is March 1st.
UD will accept FAFSAs after this date.
The school code for UD is 003651.
• The Office of Financial Aid will review your FAFSA if not selected for verification.*
New students will receive an award letter detailing your total financial aid package. If you wish to accept and/or decline the financial aid offer, you must login to BannerWeb and do so online. Please check your preferred email daily for updates.
Returning undergraduate students will receive an award notification of your financial aid package through email after April 1st. If you wish to accept and/or decline the financial aid offer, you must login to BannerWeb and do so online. Please check your preferred email daily for updates. Failure to check your email regularly, could result in a delay in processing your financial aid.
• If you accept your Federal Direct Loan(s) and you are a new borrower at UD, you will be required to complete a Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note and Direct Loan Entrance Counseling at StudentLoans.gov. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your loan.
*Verification
The federal government randomly selects students for verification. University of Dallas is required to verify the information submitted on the FAFSA before any federal and or state aid can be offered. When you receive your ‘Student Aid Report’ from the Department of Education, it will tell you if you are selected for the verification process. You must submit a Verification form and a copy of the parents’ and student’s (if filed) signed current federal tax return. If additional documents are required, the Office of Financial Aid will notify you by email. Please respond promptly to our requests for additional documentation to avoid delay in processing your financial aid.
If you or your parents have filed an extension on your taxes and you are selected for verification, the Financial Aid Office will be unable to process your financial aid until your signed tax return(s) are submitted to our office.
