Guest Borrower Policy

The library offers guest borrowing provileges to qualifying individuals.  Guest borrowers must apply at the circulation desk at the William A. Blakley Library, University of Dallas, and provide appropriate documentation, such as a photo ID.

Alumni of the University of Dallas are eligible for guest borrowing priviliges.  Certification of alumni status should be obtained from the Office of Alumni Relations or the registrar's office.

Borrowers affiliated with an educational institution may be eligible for guest privileges at the Blakley Library.  Students from institutions within the state of Texas should apply for a TexShare card from their home institution.  Students from institutions not participating in the TexShare program should present a university ID and a letter of introduction by the chair of the department with which the guest is affiliated in order to obtain and/or purchase a guest card.

Students under the age of 18 may only borrow materials by prior agreement between their home institution and the William A. Blakley Library.  For more information about these agreements, a school representative should contact Cherie Hohertz, Access Services Librarian, at chohertz@udallas.edu or 972-721-5040.

Catholic clergy within the Dallas and Ft. Worth Diocese are immediately granted guest privilieges.

Spouses of University of Dallas employees are also eligible for a guest card.

Guest borrowers who are ineligible to receive a guest card are encouraged to obtain a TexShare card from their local library.
