On-line Resources:

Want to know what books and other material the Library has available? Check the Online Catalog.

Doing Research? Go to the William A. Blakley research web site or try the following options:

  • How do you determine which databases are on the library website? Try the Alphabetical List of searchable databases. Most of the databases are indexes to publications. (Note: use your Student NetWork Account when prompted)

  • Not to sure which database to search? A selection of subjects in the Subject Guides indicate specialized databases, general databases, e-books and e-journals, and print books and journals. (Note: use your NetWork Account when prompted)
  • How can you find an article or a title of a journal that is in full text? The Full Text Title List shows what online journals the library owns as well as linking database articles to full text articles.

Need a Refresher? Find tutorials and tips in How to Search.

Want to read an e-book? NetLibrary is a searchable database of electronic books. First you will be prompted for your NetWork Account. Then you must establish their own accounts to check out e-books for 24 hours.

How is material arranged in the library? The library uses a classification system from the Library of Congress, which is summarized in the LC Classification Outline, to shelve material in subject related categories. (Note: The database WorldCat indicates the LC subject headings with broad and narrow terms, as well as see references).

Library Services:

Want to read something your professor assigned for class reading from the Library reserves? Go to Online Reserves on the library website and enter the account provided by the professor.

Need to get an article journal or book that the library does not own? Go to Illiad - Interlibrary Loan on the library website. This allows one to borrow materials from other libraries.

Want to renew a book borrowed from the William A. Blakley Library? Go to Library Book Renewals.
