University of Dallas has changed the way we do email!

UD has now transitioned from Microsoft Outlook and adapted a Google-based email server.

Why the change?  The Google Apps Mail system will enable you to send and receive larger files, share documents more easily with students and colleagues through GoogleApps, access your email more quickly and efficiently from anywhere in the world, schedule meetings with your colleagues and students more efficiently and will reduce University costs to upgrade and maintain our email servers.

Using the links below, you can become more familiar with the helpful tools that are provided by Google for your new email account. For additional questions, contact Brad Weatheread at (972) 721-4137 or bweathe@udallas.edu or Jamie Wahkinney at jamiew@udallas.edu or (972) 721-5362.

Mail: Keep your University of Dallas email address, but use Google’s advanced email interface, without ads. Each mailbox comes with a powerful spam filter and over 7 gigabytes of storage. You may never have to delete a message again!

Calendar: Now you get a calendar for yourself, and you can share calendars with colleagues or friends, or subscribe to public calendars to stay on top of events on campus.

Docs: Create and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, and download them to your favorite desktop applications. Great for collaborative projects, in and out of class and between departments.

Chat: IM with colleagues, or make free voice calls to anyone else with Google Talk, anywhere in the world.

Mobile: Mobile applications allow you to view your e-mail on smartphones, as well as many popular cell phones.
