LEAD
Leadership Effectiveness Assessment and Development
The LEAD program is designed to enhance your leadership and interpersonal skills.
LEAD courses meet for a full day on Saturdays, and are 1/2 credit each. You are
required to successfully complete a minimum of two courses as part of your graduation
requirements.
The LEAD program is an exciting opportunity to help you become a more effective manager
and successful business leader.
What is LEAD and what will it do for you?
LEAD is a series of one-half (.5) credit-hour classes designed to enhance leadership
and interpersonal skills in graduate students.
How many LEAD courses will I have to complete?
There will be a variety of LEAD courses taught, and you must complete two of these
to fulfill degree requirements in the Graduate School of Management (but you
may certainly take all of them if you like). Each class will be taught in a Saturday
intensive format for one Saturday session only (7 hours - but we'll give you
a break for lunch). You will register for these courses in Banner just like any
other course, pay just like any other course, and receive a grade just like any
other course.
How does tuition work for LEAD?
Students will pay for .5 credit hours - 1/2 of the current tuition credit hour price.
When do I have to register for LEAD?
In order for you to reap the most benefits from the LEAD courses (as well as your
regular coursework), we strongly recommend that you complete your LEAD courses
within the first two terms of registration. Registration for LEAD will take place
just like registration for any other class and will appear on the course schedule
just like any other class. You may register online for the courses when you register
for your other Graduate School of Management courses.
Do I get financial aid for taking LEAD courses?
Because they are for-credit, LEAD courses do count in your credit-hour load towards
financial aid; however you must maintain the minimum number of credit hours to
qualify.
What happens if I register for a LEAD course but do not attend?
If you are unable to attend a LEAD course you've registered for, you will only receive
a refund if you drop the day prior to the class meeting. If you do not drop it
the day prior, you will not receive a refund of tuition and you will receive
a grade of FA (Failure to Withdraw) and are subject to the Academic Review Policy.
If you are unable to drop online via the Banner system, please submit the online drop form.
Does an FA grade affect my GPA?
FA grades are considered failing grades and will be tallied in your final GPA and
subject you to the Academic Review Policy.
