U. D. Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society

The purpose of this chapter is to provide information, practical experience, and a social environment for all students enrolled at the University of Dallas who are interested in chemistry and chemistry related professions. Our chapter has been recognized by the American Chemical Society with either Commendable or Honorable Mention Awards for each of the last seven years.

Some of our activities included demonstrations for middle schools, judging the science olympiad quiz bowl, and doing hands on demonstrations for National Chemistry Week at the Science Place in Dallas. Photographs are from plant trips to Hoechst Celanese in Corpus Christi and Vista Chemical in Oklahoma City. We have taken students to a regional ACS meeting in El Paso and to national ACS meetings in New Orleans and in Salt Lake City.
