Meet the Directors of the UD Rome Campus
Dr. Peter Hatlie, Dean & Director of the Rome Campus
Dean and Director of the Rome Campus, Dr. Peter Hatlie, was born and raised in Minnesota. He holds a B.A. in Classics from St. Olaf College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Medieval and Byzantine History from Fordham University. He came to UD Rome in 1999 after holding positions in the U.S., Bulgaria, Turkey and the Netherlands. He was the acting Academic Director of the Rome Program in 2003, the Academic Director of the Rome Program from Fall of 2005 to Spring 2008, and is now the Dean and Director of the Rome Campus. Dr. Laura Flusche, Assistant Academic Dean
Assistant Academic Dean of the Rome Campus, Dr. Laura Flusche has been a member of the UD Rome Faculty since 1997. She holds a B.A. in Art History from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX; an M.A. in Italian Renaissance Art from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and a Ph.D. in Etruscan and Roman Art and Archaeology, also from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Flusche, a long-time resident of Rome, also teaches the Art & Architecture of Rome Course on the University of Dallas Rome Campus. Click here to email Dr. Flusche.
Mrs. Rebecca Davies, Director of the Rome Office on the Irving Campus
Mrs. Rebecca Davies, Director of the Rome Office in Irving, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester, an M. Ed. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and she has worked as a teacher and administrator in Rochester, Buffalo and Dallas. She lived on the University of Dallas Rome campus from 1994-1996 while her husband, Dr. David Davies, served on the Rome faculty. She has worked in the Rome Office in Irving since 1997, serving as Director since 2001. She also teaches piano privately. |
