Academic Record

We look at your transcript for information about your ability to excel in the classroom and thrive as a scholar on our campus. Curriculum options open to students may vary from high school to high school, but in general we look for evidence of students' successes in the most challenging courses available to them. Participation in honors, AP, or IB courses, if offered, is highly desirable. Your high school course grades, along with the rigor of your chosen academic program, give us insight into your academic preparedness for UD. The Office of Admission evaluates this record strictly in terms of course selection and achievement - that is, what a student did with what was available at the school attended. The number and difficulty of courses chosen each year are an important measure of academic motivation and achievement. Each student's record is evaluated individually.
