Aspiring Scholars Award Program (ASAP)
- Amount: $1,000 - $8,000
- Eligibility: High School Juniors
During Odyssey Days you have the opportunity to participate in the Aspiring Scholars Award Program (ASAP). ASAP consists of an exam that is based on the nationally recognized UD curriculum. The exam serves as a window into the UD curriculum by allowing you to sample what you will learn when you become a student at UD.
Participation in ASAP also presents you with the opportunity to apply for Early Admission to UD.
You can even earn a scholarship based on your performance on the exam!
Current high school juniors may participate by following the steps below:
Register to attend the Odyssey Days program
- Complete the ASAP exam, which will be administered during the Odyssey Days program. The test is based on the nationally recognized University of Dallas curriculum and does not require any advanced preparation.
Your performance on the exam will in no way hinder your ability to obtain other scholarships offered by University of Dallas.
Once you have completed the requirements listed in Step I, you will be mailed the ASAP Application approximately two weeks after the Odyssey program you attended.
To complete the ASAP application process, you will need to return the ASAP application along with the following application credentials:
- 6th semester transcript
- Teacher Recommendation
- Counselor Recommendation
- SAT/ACT test scores
- Optional writing sample
ASAP scholars are not required to complete the essay portion of the application for admission to the University of Dallas
- The application fee is waved for ASAP scholars
Notification Process
Award recipients are in no way committed to accept enrollment as a result of participating in the ASAP program.
The ASAP Award counts as an Academic Achievement Award, since it is based on an academic exam given by the University.
In March of senior year, the University will reconsider each ASAP exam student’s achievements in relation to the competitiveness of the applicant pool. If the ASAP exam student would have received more scholarship money from his or her application for admission than he or she received based on their score on the ASAP exam, he or she will receive enough scholarship money in March so that the total scholarship value awarded to the student matches what the student earned from their application for admission.
If the ASAP exam student receives more money from the score on the ASAP exam than he or she would have received from the application for admission alone, the ASAP exam student will not receive more scholarship money in March unless he or she successfully competed for a Leadership Award or Special Award.
Thus, students who take the ASAP exam receive the largest of either the scholarship amount they earned on the ASAP exam alone, or the scholarship amount they earned on the application for admission. This makes the process of taking the ASAP exam a risk-free scholarship experience.
