The Chemistry Department Award

- Amount: $1,000-$3,000
- Eligibility: High school seniors who have applied to UD with an intended major in Chemistry or Biochemistry by the January 15th, Priority Scholarship Application Deadline.
Deadline: February 15, 2008
To Apply:
- Apply for admission to the university,
- Submit a letter of recommendation from your high school or college chemistry teacher, and
- Schedule an on-campus interview with the Chemistry Department by contacting the Campus Visit Coordinator.
- Complete the Special Award Program Application and submit it prior to your campus visit and interview. Please be sure to mark the envelope or fax “Special Award Program Application."
Note: While you are encouraged to schedule your interviews on October 26 or November 16, (but before February 15, 2008) which are the Fridays of the Odyssey Days Open House events, personalized appointments may be available by contacting the Campus Visit Coordinator.
Renewability Criteria:
This scholarship is renewable annually and available to you during four consecutive school years, dependent upon your academic performance and the criteria stated below.
Maintain full-time academic status each semester by earning at least twelve UD credit hours per fall and spring semester and earning at least twenty-seven UD credit hours per annual review period.
Demonstrate a cumulative UD G.P.A. (grade point average) of at least 3.000 on the annual review date.
Demonstrate a cumulative UD GPA of 3.000 in all chemistry coursework.
Declare and pursue, in a timely manner, a major in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
