Graduate Financial Aid
All students who apply for financial aid at UD must first be admitted to a degree program and be enrolled in that program at least half-time. However, you should not wait for acceptance before beginning the financial aid process. The University of Dallas has two graduate programs: the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts and the Graduate School of Management. Please visit their web page for more information regarding the application process.
Steps to Hassle-free Financial Aid
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in applying for financial aid. You will have to do this every year that you wish to apply for aid. Since it is based on the previous year's taxes, we suggest that you fill out your tax forms and the FAFSA at the same time, if possible. Remember, the earlier in the season that you apply, the easier it is to receive available funding. To obtain a copy of the FAFSA, you may go to a local library, any college or university, contact our office, or you may complete the FAFSA on-line.
The school code for UD is 003651.
You will also need to complete either the Graduate School of Management Financial Aid Form or the Braniff and School of Ministry Financial Aid Form, depending on the program in which you are enrolled.
Once you have completed the FAFSA and the appropriate Financial Aid Form: Once your financial aid file is complete and has been reviewed, you will be sent an award letter outlining your total financial aid package. If you wish to accept and/or decline the financial aid offered, you must sign and return the award letter to the Financial Aid Office by the due date indicated.
If you are eligible for loans: If you are a new borrower at UD and intend on accepting your Federal Stafford loans, you will be required to complete a Loan Entrance Counseling Session and a Federal Stafford Master Promissory Note at www.opennet.salliemae.com. Failure to complete both processes will result in cancellation of loan funds for the academic year.
Verification: Additional documents maybe required in completing your financial aid file. Occasionally, students are chosen for a process called 'verification.' The federal government randomly selects a student for verification and the institution must verify the information submitted on the FAFSA before any federal and or state aid can be offered. You must submit a Verification Form, a current federal tax return, and W-2’s. You will need the Acrobat Reader for the verification form. If additional documents are required, the Office of Financial Aid will notify you. Please respond promptly to our requests for information to avoid delay in processing your financial aid.
