Tuition Remission and Teaching Positions

The Braniff Graduate School awards a limited number of tuition remission scholarships annually on the basis of merit. Scholarship interest should be indicated on the admission application form. No teaching assistantships are available; however, there are adjunct teaching possibilities in the several local community colleges. In addition, each program has small research assistantships for which applicants should apply directly to the department after being granted admission. Information is available each semester in the Graduate Coordinator's office.

Scholarships for Teachers

All full-time teachers are considered for a two-thirds tuition scholarship if admitted into a degree program and a one-third scholarship if admitted as a non-degree student.

Other Scholarships

The Institute of Philosophic Studies doctoral program and the MA and MFA programs in Art offer full tuition scholarships.

Federal Students Loans

Graduate students at the University of Dallas are eligible to apply for a Federal Student Loan through the Financial Aid Office. However, they must be enrolled at least half-time. To determine eligibility for a Federal Student Loan, the Financial Aid Office requires the following initial items:

1) A completed (Renewal) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

2) A completed University of Dallas Graduate Application for Financial Aid

Students interested in obtaining a Federal Student Loan should contact the Financial Aid Office directly at (972) 721-5266 or (800) 628-6999. As soon as the Financial Aid Office has received all the required documents and has been informed of the student's acceptance by the Graduate Dean, they will notify him/her of eligibility for a Federal Student Loan.

*Non-permanent residents of the U.S. are not eligible to receive federal aid, but may apply for a university tuition remission scholarship.

In addition, applicants to the doctoral program are automatically considered for a limited number of other grants.
