Concentration in Behavioral Management Studies

If you are a person who is intrigued by the psychology of business, a person who asks why people behave the way that they do, then Behavioral Management Studies will interest you as a Business Leadership specialization.

The concentration in Behavioral Management Studies is a 15-hour curriculum in the managerial and psychological foundations of organizational behavior studies. The purpose of the Behavioral Management Studies concentration is to provide a vehicle for business majors to examine the intersection between social psychology and organizational behavior theory in the context of managing complex organizations. It is a formal framework for behavioral science studies in business. Business Leadership majors only are eligible to participate. Its primary audience includes students interested in management and supervisory careers, management consulting, or pursuing graduate work in management or organizational behavior.

Concentration requirements. 15 credit hours of study to include:

BUS 4303 Organizational Behavior Theory
PSY 2313 General Psychology
PSY 3338 Social Psychology

Select 2 of the following (6 hours):

PSY 3341 Psychology of Personality
PSY 3352 Special Topic (with approval of concentration director)
PSY 4339 Psychology of Perception
BUS 3303 Theory of Management
BUS 3304 Practice of Management
BUS 3323 Buyer Behavior Management
BUS 3352 Topics in Business Leadership (management or behavior topic)
BUS 4352 Topics in Business Leadership (management or behavior topic)
