PLACEMENT RESULTS FOR 2006-2007 GSM CAPSTONE STUDENTS
Every term, Career Services administers an online placement survey to its graduating capstone students. This comprehensive survey assesses the students' career-related experiences during their programs.
2006 - 2007 GSM CAPSTONE STUDENT PROFILE: Gender Distribution: Female - 40% / Male - 60% Average Age: 35 Average Work Experience: Over 8 years Already Employed (Not Seeking): 76% US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or H-1 Visa Holders: 90% International Students: 10% / Countries Represented: 62 Full-Time Students: 16% / Part-Time Students: 84%

Of the 24% who were seeking employment during their programs:
INTERNSHIPS
* 52% of all reporting capstone students who were seeking participated in internships. 36% of those resulted in permanent offers after graduation.
* 64% of the US Citizens, Permanent Residents, and H-1 Visa Holders who were seeking reported participation in internships. 43% of those resulted in permanent offers after graduation.
* 44% of the International Students who were seeking reported participation in internships. 25% resulted in permanent offers after graduation.
* Most internships were in Business Management & Marketing Management
* The Top Internship Employers included Advantage Marketing Group, ASI Modulex, Citigroup, Compass Bank, Dallas Basketball Limited, Dallas Stars Hockey Club, Fidelity Investments, International Trade Center SBDC, Master Supply Source, NCH Corporation, Southwest Logical Solutions, and Target Corporation.
* Most interns reported earning $15.00-$20.00/hr.
PERMANENT POSITIONS
* 41% of all reporting capstone students who were seeking accepted full-time positions after graduation.
* 38% of the US Citizens, Permanent Residents, and H-1 Visa Holders who were seeking reported accepting full-time positions after graduation.
* 27% of the International Students who were seeking reported accepting full-time positions after graduation.
* Most positions were in Information Technology, Telecom and Finance.
* Industry sectors represented most were Technology, Finance and Management.
* The Top Permanent Employers were Allstate Insurance, ASI Modulex, Bank of America, Citigroup, Ericsson, Fidelity Investments, IBM, JC Penney, J.P. Morgan Chase, Siemens, and Verizon.
* Job titles included Administrator, Application Developer, Accountant, Account Manager, Business Analysts, Consultant, Director of Marketing, Executive Director, Financial Analyst, Financial Planner, HR Executive, IT Manager, Manager, Personal Banker, Product Manager, Project Manager, Sales Manager, Software Engineer, Senior Engineer and Software Engineer.
* Average reported base salary range for graduating students was $65-$85,000/year with salaries up to $95-100,000/year reported.
JOB POSTINGS
* UD Career Services currently has a database of over 1000 employers with more being added daily as new openings come in.
* UD Career Services has a very active job board. Over 1200 positions were posted. 75% were part and full-time jobs. 25% were paid and unpaid internships.
* The Top 5 Executive Recruiting Firms were Alyn, Patrick & Associates, Heidrick & Struggles, North American Recruiting & Consulting, Ratliff Associates, and Robert Half International.
CAREER FAIRS
* The Top Career Fair Employers included AXA Advisors, Citigroup, CompUSA, Dallas Metrocare, Homecomings Financial, IBM, Mitsui Bussan Logistics, NCH Corporation, UT Southwestern Medical Center, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, and Verizon.
