Robert F. Scherer
Bob Scherer serves as Dean and Professor of Management in the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business at the University of Dallas. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, an M.A. in Management from the University of Redlands, and a B.A. in Communication and Theater from Miami University. Scherer is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Scherer has published more than 150 scholarly and professional works including journal articles, conference papers, edited editions, book chapters, and reviews in the areas of business education, performance, occupational stress, safety, entrepreneurship, international management, organizational communication, and gender issues in the workplace.
Scherer currently serves as an Executive Editor for the Journal of Social Psychology. He co-edited the book A Field Guide to Internationalizing Business Education.
Scherer has received over $5 million in federal, state, and local grant and contract funds for international, small business, academic and outreach programs.
In Chile, Scherer served as a Fulbright Senior Scholar, Fulbright Legacy Grantee, and as a Fulbright Senior Specialist at the Universidad de Concepción. Scherer has consulted with more than 50 private, public, and nonprofit organizations on a variety of organizational and performance issues. He serves or has served on the boards of more than fifteen public, nonprofit, and professional organizations.
Scherer serves as a member of the AACSB International Initial Accreditation Committee and has served on peer review teams and as a mentor for schools in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Prior to entering a university career, Scherer held managerial positions in the insurance and magazine publishing industries.
