The ideal DBA candidate will possess significant and substantive managerial experience and a master's degree from a recognized, regionally-accredited institution. Applicants must have demonstrated written and verbal communications skills and will be required to attend a DBA Preview Day as well as a personal interview as part of the application process.

Admissions Process

Submit online application with the following:  

Application fee of $100
Current resume or C.V.
A personal and professional statement two to three pages in length that answers the following:

  • Why do you want to pursue a DBA at the University of Dallas?

  • What are your career aspirations after receiving your doctorate?

  • What obstacles or challenges might hinder your ability to complete the UD DBA program within the three-year program period?  How would you address these?

  • What specific aspects of a business opportunity or problem might you be interested in investigating through an applied research project?  Provide two-three items (articles; links from the internet) that are representative of the issues in which you are interested.  

Letters of recommendation from two professionals in academe or industry, with an original signature.  

International applicants (visa holders) will need to submit a valid English-proficiency score of 105+ on the TOEFL exam if they have not earned a degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution.


Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended – must be official paper copies, mailed to:

Candidates who are selected to move forward in the admission process will be invited in early spring to the DBA Preview Day and subsequently to personal interviews before a final admission decision is rendered.
