Dr. Jenny Gu, Assistant Professor of Finance, received her doctorate in Finance from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. During the last six years, Dr. Gu has been teaching the following finance courses at the University of Arkansas and University of Dallas – Principles of Microeconomics, Financial Modeling, International Finance, Corporate Finance, Investments, Managerial Finance, Intermediate Corporate Finance, and Corporate Treasury Management.
Dr. Jenny Gu also has completed the requirements to receive the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation by successfully passing the three Level exams and is currently a CFA charter holder.
Dr. Gu's current research focuses on bond credit ratings and opacity of the financial institutions. Most of her research projects are inspired by the recent financial crisis, focusing primarily on risk. Specifically, the topics include the timeliness and stability of default risk announcements made by rating agencies, the signaling of risk made by firms, how systemic risks occur and spread, potential prevention of systematic risk, etc.
