The University offers a Theatre Scholarship to students who have excelled in theatre and are judged to have potential as players in our University Theatre productions. It is emphatically NOT just for those intending to major in Drama, but for STUDENTS OF ALL MAJORS who will perform consistently in campus plays. (It works just like a sports scholarship: theatre is the sport.) Note: theatre scholarship awards are substantial amounts. They are awarded almost entirely on the basis of an Audition or Portfolio Review: send your audition/interview application with your application for admission to UD.
Students are encouraged to visit UD to audition or interview during one of our campus visit days (an audition time will be assigned to each student), but appointments can be arranged for any date before the February deadline. During the theater scholars auditions performance candidates must present two monologues. The drama faculty would like to see one piece from Shakespeare and one from a contemporary play. Please limit your entire audition to five minutes. Portfolio reviews/interviews will be arranged for those students with a design interest.
Applications must be received by January 15 and your audition must be performed by February 9th, 2008
