Guidelines for Academic Preparation
The University of Dallas challenges its students to think through the greatest works that Western Civilization has produced in philosophy, history, politics, theology, literature, science, mathematics and art. We're looking for students who are capable and willing to grapple with original works in order to discover the ideas and truths that transcend the various disciplines.
The University recommends the following curriculum in preparation for its academic program:
| Art | 2 years (including performing and visual art) | | Electives | 4 years | | English | 4 years (literature, grammar, composition) | | Foreign Language | 2 years (ancient or modern) | | Math | 3- 4 years (Calculus is recommended for mathematics or science degrees) | | Science | 3 years (including biology, chemistry and physics) | | Social Studies | 4 years (including History) |
