Albert (Al) P. Carey is President and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay North America (FLNA) division. In this position, Carey leads the $12 billion snack and convenient foods business, reporting to John Compton, CEO, PepsiCo North America. Frito-Lay is PepsiCo's most profitable operating division and the company's largest North American business.

PepsiCo is one of the world’s largest food and beverage companies, with 2005 annual revenues of more than $33 billion. Its principal businesses include Frito-Lay snacks, Pepsi-Cola beverages, Gatorade sports drinks, Tropicana juices and Quaker Foods.

Mr. Carey was appointed to his current position in June 2006. Prior to this, he served as President of PepsiCo Sales, responsible for PepsiCo’s sales and customer management for retail, foodservice and fountain businesses. In this role, he was the architect of PepsiCo’s successful “Power of One” cross-divisional strategy, leveraging the combined strengths and capabilities of all its businesses under a unified approach to customers.

Mr. Carey was previously Chief Operating Officer for PepsiCo Beverages & Foods. He also served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Retailer Strategies, where he led PepsiCo's long-term sales strategies with the corporation's retailers. Mr. Carey also served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Pepsi-Cola North America, with responsibility for Pepsi's sales organization, the Fountain Beverage Division and management of its bottler community. He assumed these positions in 1999 upon the spin-off company-owned bottling operations into the Pepsi Bottling Group and played a key role in realigning the sales organization to work more closely and effectively with bottlers and retail customers.

Mr. Carey has a wealth of leadership experience in consumer packaged goods, spanning both sales and general management. After seven years in sales at Procter & Gamble, he joined Frito-Lay North America (FLNA) in 1981 as Director of Trade Development. He held a broad range of positions at Frito-Lay, including Vice President of National Sales, Vice President/General Manager of Foodservice and Division President of Frito-Lay West and as Chief Operating Officer of North America.

Mr. Carey serves on the following outside organizations:
• University of Maryland Foundation Board of Trustees.
• Deans Advisory Council – Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
• Advisory Council of Portland State University Food Industry Leadership program.
• Past Director of the DelMonte Foods Company
Mr. Carey is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
