"The Value of Project Management in Turbulent Times"
Historically, showing the value of project management has been difficult in good times. With the global economy repositioning itself weekly, the need to have a proven stable workforce that understands project objectives, how to deliver those objectives to your clients and how to use the tools to get this done on time are the keys to enabling success. Project Management is not a single threaded process of work like accounting, inventory or development. Project management is a broad collection of concepts and processes, forcing one to look at the various aspects of project management and show the value associated with each component.
This session will discuss project management value elements that can be used to justify and to "sell" project management in your organization.
As a project manager are you ready to deliver?

"Changing the Way We Implement Change in Organizations"
Escalating customer demands and the rapid pace of change in the world have created a business environment that is intolerant of the status quo - one where stability is viewed as stagnation rather than steadiness. The unenviable task of introducing even more change into this already tumultuous organizational atmosphere often lies with project managers.
This highly participative session will provide attendees with the practical knowledge and skills they need to initiate and manage sustainable change efforts, whether large or small. Building on a foundation of sound change management principles, attendees will learn practical ways to collaboratively create a climate that is more conducive to change by learning how to address the emotional dimensions of change as well as the informational and tactical aspects.

"Raising the Bar: How to Increase Your Organization's Project Management Maturity"
Since the advent of a formal body of knowledge for our profession, many project management practitioners have encountered resistance to the use of modern project management methods in their organizations. There are many reasons for this resistance, such as entrenched functional management, cultural inertia, and lack of awareness and understanding of the benefits of a project management methodology that fits their needs. This presentation will help new and experienced project managers understand their organizational environment and the challenges they face, and will outline a useful set of tools to help the project manager increase the project management maturity of their larger organizations.
Attendees, both pre and post certified, will be enriched with fresh observations, unique ideas, and useful tools to guide their organizations toward more successful projects in the future.

In the past several years, largely due to the growth of the internet and the availability of sufficient bandwidth, and driven by fierce economic pressures, project teams have moved from simple local telecommuting to even more dispersed global outsourced teams, with members participating from all time zones, work schedules, and cultures. Recent events affecting the travel industry and the current lean economic conditions force even more use of alternate methods to coordinate and control ever more widely dispersed project teams toward deadlines and quality products.
