The complexity of personal finance demands advisors with broad knowledge of the many financial strategies available to individuals. This program prepares financial generalists to work in either financial service firms that utilize financial specialists, or as private practitioners. In addition to a core foundation of business skills and concepts, students gain exposure to a wide variety of financial products and financial management skills through the specialized tracks.
The Graduate School of Management Program is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., the Association for Investment Management and Research, and the American College. The coursework is designed to give students proficiency in the subjects covered by these organizations, so that they may qualify for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) certifications and satisfy the education requirement with CFP Board for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification.
The University of Dallas does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and marks. CFP certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to individuals who in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met ethics, excperience and examination requirements.
