Benefits of the Graduate School of Management's Online Experience
Our online classes provide students with the flexibility they need to maintain their commitments to work and family, while enabling them to achieve their educational goals by participating in a high-quality, practice-oriented program.
The primary benefits that students who enroll in our online programs and courses are seeking include:
Convenience and Flexibility:
Frequent travel, relocation, and busy schedules often do not allow some students to attend classes on-campus each week. In order to enable our student's to achieve their educational goals, we use technology so that our teaching follows our students - right to their computers - no matter where they might be.
How are courses taught? Graduate School of Management's on-line courses are taught in an asynchronous mode. In other words, students interact with the professor and other students via the Internet at times convenient to each individual. Students and professors do not have to be on-line at the same time. However, courses are designed to follow a 13-week trimester schedule (just like our on-campus courses).
Do I have to take all my classes online? Students may complete courses on-campus or on-line. Many students mix and match, taking both classroom and on-line courses, based on their needs and schedule.
Our on-line programs and course offerings give all our students the freedom to decide the "when, where and how" of their education. Reputation and Quality:
Unlike other on-line programs, at the Graduate School of Management there is no distinction made between on-campus and on-line courses - other than the mode of delivery. Overall learning objectives remain the same, and the same course materials are usually used. In the vast majority of cases, the professor that teaches the course on campus also develops and teaches the same course on-line.
This unique approach ensures consistency and quality across our programs and course offerings. It is of the utmost importance to us that our "high tech" learning environment maintain the "high touch" level of student satisfaction and support for which our on-campus programs are known. For that reason, it is our policy to limit on-line class size to no more than 25 students. In reality, the average on-line class has 20 students. Practical Understanding and Career Enhancement:
Graduate School of Management Faculty at the University of Dallas College of Business - both those who teach on-campus and on-line (many do both) -combine a rare mix of competence in both the theoretical aspects of business and the working knowledge of its practical application in the global economy. Their knowledge and insight comes from a variety of managerial and professional experiences, most having worked in industry prior to their academic careers. Their practical research, personal knowledge of the successful application of business knowledge and passion for their disciplines span all dimensions of the modern global organization. As a result, Graduate School of Management faculty bring a healthy balance of practical knowledge and global experience directly into the traditional and digital classroom.
