Information for Alumni

University of Dallas alumni are welcome to visit the William A. Blakley Library and may search the library's online catalog in the library or at home through the University of Dallas Library website. Anyone interested in checking out materials from the library must have a current membership in the Alumni Association. Our electronic databases and reference services are available to anyone who comes into the library, although remote access to these services is only available to current faculty, staff, and students of the University of Dallas.




Alumni Cards

Although the collection of the William A. Blakley Library is primarily to support current faculty, staff, and students of the University of Dallas, Alumni Cards extend library borrowing privileges to persons not currently affiliated with the University of Dallas for a limited time. Alumni cards are avilable to individuals who are:

  • Residents of Texas
  • A current member of the University of Dallas Alumni Association.

    Policies for Alumni Card Users are as follows:Alumni cards are non-transferable and are issued for one year. Renewal must be made in person at the circulation desk.

  • The individual named on the alumni card is responsible for all items borrowed with the card and for any fines or charges incurred.
  • The alumni card and a picture ID must be presented by the person named on the card to check out materials or use other library services.
  • Alumni card users may borrow 5 items simultaneously.
  • The loan period for alumni card users is 21 days.
  • Library books that have not been recalled may be renewed up to 3 times in one of the following ways
  • Overdue charges are accrued daily. Current rates are available at the circulation desk and outlined in the Checkout Policies
  • Alumni card users must notify the library imediately of any change of address
  • Alumni card borrowing privileges will be revoked for the following reasons:
    • User fails to respond to a recall request
    • Books are not returned within 60 days of due date
    • Unpaid charges
    • More than 2 lost books within a calendar year period
    • Failure to comply with all Library Policies
