The Pastoral Ministry Program is for those who seek to serve the diverse pastoral needs of the Church and broader world. It equips graduates with appropriate theological knowledge, pastoral skill, and spiritual depth. The following eight courses are required of all students who complete this program (with the exception of the Church Management concentration):

RPS 6311. Liturgy and Sacraments RPS 6320. Theological Reflection
RPS 6312. Moral Theology RPS 6321. Old Testament
RPS 6313. Systematic Theology RPS 6322. New Testament
RPS 6314. Church History RPS 6010. Proseminar

To meet the diverse pastoral needs of the Church, and its dioceses, parishes, and organizations, the MPM program offers several concentrations in this degree program, each with a unique curriculum:

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministers provide proactive ministerial services on college campuses, reaching out to young adults. This program prepares those interested in working with a population faced with the challenges of college life, and the often accompanying questions about faith, values, and using one's gifts.

Church Management

The concentration in Church Management provides ministers with theological, pastoral, financial, and managerial skills crucial for the efficient operation of churches and schools. It requires 37 credit hours of course work, including 19 credit hours from the School of Ministry, 12 credit hours from the College of Business, and six electives in approved business or ministry courses. Students must also complete a capstone project.

Health Care Ministry

Recognized by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, this focus area features on site Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at area certified CPE programs in regional hospitals, combined with academic knowledge and a capstone project.

Youth Ministry

This focus area provides the preparation needed to address the spiritual growth of youth in a parish or school setting. The program is offered in conjunction with the Center for Ministry Development and meets its requirements for the National Certificate in Youth Ministry.
