Language and Literature Unit
A Language-and-Literature Unit is set of six upper-division courses in one of our major languages (French, German, Spanish), a combination of skills, literature, and sometimes other upper-division courses, all taught in the target language.
Although the Language-and-Literature Unit (in the case of French and German) is the core of the language major, it can be used, after the manner of a Concentration, in conjunction with any major whatsoever: a major in another language, in Comparative Literary Studies, History, Biology, Math, Business, English, what have you.
