Happy Spring!

It is mid-way through the spring semester, and students are hopefully enjoying their well deserved spring break.  A lot has been happening both on and off the Irving campus this spring semester.  A group of students recently traveled to Austin to support the Texas Equalization Grant, Rome students displayed a message to the Pope, graduating seniors have been measured for their caps and gowns and the Knights of Columbus have been frying up fish every Friday during Lent.

There are many upcoming events and important dates for parents and students throughout the semester.  Housing applications submitted during Housing Registration Week, March 25-28, will receive priority over applications submitted later.  The Alumni Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place on Saturday, March 30, and all are invited.  Author Alexa Turczynski and illustrator Nicole Stevens will be on hand autographing their recently published book University of Dallas from A to Z. Students will surely want to participate in some of the new and traditional RHA events, including Messy Twister, New Hall Goes Greek and the ever popular ClubDonna. Rec Programming has some great activities this spring for students, including Aikido, Boxing, Yoga and sailing on Lake Grapevine.

Mark October 4-6, 2013, on your calendars for this year's Alumni and Family Weekend.  Planning is underway, and we would appreciate you taking a moment to share your past experiences in this short interest survey.

If your student did not do as well on mid-terms as expected, remind your student that there is still time to turn things around.  Perhaps a visit to the Academic Success Office, a meeting with the professor or tutoring will prove helpful.

With today's technology, there are so many ways to stay connected, especially with social media.  Click HERE for some tips on communicating with your student on social media.  Speaking of social media...have you checked out the UD Parent and Family Facebook page?  It is a great way to stay connected and updated with current UD events and information.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns....we are here for you!

Until next time,
