Back in Irving I'm most heavily involved in the Martial Arts Club, Crusaders for Life, and Swing Club. While in Rome my pastimes have included stalking the Pope (this one's unfortunately a joke), losing things in random cities and climbing anything high just to make everything look small. A word of advice, don't think upper classmen are scary or inordinately wise. I was a year younger than all my friends in high school, so I know gaps always seem wider when you're looking up at those above you, but my freshman orientation still feels like yesterday! I was an orientation leader last year, and I'm super excited to come back and do it again, just to see if y'all are as awesome as last year's batch (which I'm sure you are). Welcome to the UD family!

Welcome to UD!

Hey everyone, I'm Alex Taylor and I'm from Austin, TX. I'm a sophomore, and while not completely sure about my major, I might be double majoring in History/Politics with a Business concentration (I started as a Business major my freshman year). I enjoy excessively decorating my dorm room, working on Student Government projects, putting together giant speaker systems, and writing and producing rap music. I love rave, indie, postdubstep, and alternative music as well as The Office, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. I'm generally the tech guy others in my class come to for help. The best thing about UD is the community, so make sure to attend the early social events, but don't forget to do that reading or it'll stack up!

Greetings to the Class of 2016! I'm Zack, a sophomore from McHenry, IL. I wish I could tell you what I'm majoring in, but I'm not sure myself! Something in Philosophy or Politics seems likely though. I love to read, play sports, and am an avid guitarist; if you want to talk music, I will be more than happy to do so! I'm really glad you chose to come to UD, and hope you'll come to love this place as much as I have...I have a sneaking suspicion you will. See you at Orientation!
