Hello, Class of 2018! My name is Emily Madden, and I am a senior business major from Torrington, Wyoming. I grew up in a small town of about 5,000 people, so coming to Texas was a major culture shock! The small community at UD, however, helped me make a smooth transition. I am currently a member of the UD basketball team and have played softball in the past. I am so excited to meet y'all and introduce you to everything that UD has to offer. God bless!

Hey, Class of 2018! You can call me Acey. I'm a native Floridian born in Winter Park, but raised in a little speck of a town in central Florida, about half an hour from the beach, which is awesome because I love the outdoors. Another cool thing is the Class of 2016 -- REPRESENT! Oh and English majors are very cool; I'm a part of that crew, and I'm also concentrating in French. Hence, I have a huge love for languages and writing. Creative writing is one of my favorite things in the world next to dancing, music and art. I love sports like soccer, cross country, and powder puff (all you girls better do powder puff -- it's super fun and you make great memories and friends!). Honestly, I strongly suggest you get involved with any club or sport, and you will have some great times here at UD. Can't wait to meet you all! See you in the Bubble!

My name is Jenna Sommer and I'm a junior theology major from Austin, Texas. Congrats on coming to UD -- this is the place to be! I love the community here: students, professors, alumni and people who work at UD all care about you and are looking out for you. Everyone asks you, "How are you?" every time they see you. The community is so tight knit that pretty much everyone knows that my favorite color is yellow (not that I hide that, in fact I embrace yellow). I'm coming back to Irving from Rome this semester, so Rome will definitely be something I will talk about with y'all! I'm excited for my junior year to begin and to get back involved in Crusaders for Life, Campus Ministry, Alternative Spring Break, the Awakening retreat and two-step dancing with friends. Orientation is going to be a blur of new faces and information, so, if you get a little overwhelmed, come to me. Have a great summer! I can't wait to meet you :)
