Annual Housing Registration
2008-2009 DETAILED IRVING SCHEDULE
Romers: Your group housing registration meeting for those that will still fall under the residency requirement for next year is April 4th. See Renee Talamantez for details. Your Exemption Petitions or Commuter Forms are due March 20th. Other than the temporary residency requirement suspension for juniors, all standard policies and procedures still apply.
Friday, March 28th - Exemption Petition Deadline for Irving Residents
Click here for frequently asked questions regarding the Exemption Petition process. Petitioners will be notified of the decision by the Exemption Petition Committee in advance of Housing Registration Week.
(*Romers: Due to your spring travel schedule your Exemptions are due on Friday, March 20th).
Monday, April 14th:
Student Apartment Request Applications (all day)
- This is the group application deadline ONLY. An advance application MUST be submitted by complete groups prior to the actual apartment lottery tomorrow.
- Only one form is needed per group (unless combining with Romers attempting to get into the on-campus apartments, in which case matching forms are required from both campuses).
- Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. in the Office of Student Life-NO DEADLINE EXCEPTIONS. Forms are available for download from the Student Apartment Lottery Guidelines web page HERE or in the forms rack outside the Office of Student Life.
Anselm Hall/Single Rooms
- Anselm Hall: A very limited number of rooms will be available in Anselm Hall for undergraduates who will have junior status next year. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Office of Student Life for these rooms on a first-come, first-served basis. These rooms will not be available to graduate program students.
- Single Rooms: There is no 'sign-up' sheet available for single rooms in the undergraduate halls. Single rooms will simply be awarded during the normal General Residence Hall Room Lottery on April 17th.
Tuesday, April 15th:
- At least one representative from each group that submitted a "Student Apartment Request Application" on Monday, the 14th MUST attend this Lottery and must present ALL signed group member contracts. If no group representative is at the lottery, the group forfeits their chance for an apartment. No representative, no contract, no reservation. Contracts will be available outside the Office of Student Life beginning Monday, April 7th.
- Lottery begins at 5:00 p.m. in the SALC (Student Activities and Leadership Center).
Thursday, April 17th:
The General Residence Hall Room Lottery will be held in the Haggar Foyer during the classification timeslots listed below. Don't forget to bring your completed and signed Residence Hall Contract with you. Contracts will be available outside the Office of Student Life beginning Monday, April 7th.
Students unable to participate in room selection at the designated time may have another student select for them by 'proxy' as long as they have the completed and signed contract with them.
Groups of students mutually wishing to room together may select their room at the room lottery during the time slot of the group member with the lowest classification and/or lottery number. Irving residents wishing to attempt a room combination with Romers may do so as long as a mutual request is received from the Rome campus.
CLASSIFICATION TIME SLOTS: (Be on time - the process starts with or without you...)
- 4:30 - 5:20 p.m. Current freshmen/new transfers becoming sophomores
- 5:20 - 5:30 p.m. Current sophomores who will still have less than 60 official credit hours at the start of the next academic year.
Time slots for current and rising juniors and seniors are not available since we are not housing seniors and cannot guarantee housing for juniors on campus next year. However, any student falling into this category that would like to be placed upon a 'wait' list for housing may do so at the end of the Room Lottery. However, placement on the 'wait' list is NOT a guarantee of housing.
Future juniors - see Anselm section in Monday, April 14th schedule above.
