RESIDENCE HALLS


All halls and rooms are non-smoking. Campus housing is NOT guaranteed for those who do not fall under the residency requirement.


First Year Halls

All incoming freshmen are placed in standard double rooms with a roommate in freshman clusters. The halls are directly supervised by Resident Assistants (RA's) and Residence Coordinators(RC's), who report to the Director of Residence Life.

The following is a description of each residence hall.

  • Catherine Hall: This all female hall was renovated in 1997. The average room size is 11 ft 2 in x 16 ft 4 in. Each double room is equipped with two desks, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet and limited book shelving.
  • Jerome Hall: This all female hall was renovated in 1998. The average room size is 13 ft 2 in x 16 ft 9 in. Each double room is equipped with two desks, two over the desk hutches with built-in light, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet and limited book shelving.
  • Theresa Hall: This all female hall was renovated in 2000. The average room size is 13 ft 2 in x 16 ft 9 in. Each double room is equipped with two desks, two over the desk hutches with built-in light, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet and limited book shelving.
  • Madonna Hall: This all male hall was renovated in 1999. The average room size is 11 ft 4 in x 16 ft 4 in. Each double room is equipped with two desks, two over the desk hutches with built-in light, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet and limited book shelving.
  • Gregory Hall: This all male hall underwent a "facelift" during the summer of 2004. The average room size is 11 ft 7 in x 16 ft 8in. Each double room is equipped with two built in desks and shelves, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet and limited book shelving.

Upperclassmen Halls

  • Augustine Hall: This all female hall consists of one floor of residents on the second floor. It was renovated in 1995. Residents share one common corridor and one common bathroom facility. The average room size is 11 ft. 7 in x 16 ft. Two rooms on this hall are equipped with a restroom with a full size bathtub. (Reserved by upperclassmen). Each double room is equipped with two desks, a bookshelf, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet.
  • O'Connell Hall: This coed hall (by floor) consists of single and double rooms for upperclassmen. The average room size is 11 ft 4 in x 11 ft 4 in (Single) and 11 ft 10 in x 18 ft 6 in (Double). Each double room is equipped with two desks, a bookshelf, two regular twin size beds, two closets, and two dressers located inside the closets, a wash basin with storage space beneath, a medicine cabinet. Single rooms (limited availability) contain one desk, bookshelf, one regular twin size bed, one closet with enclosed dresser, a wash basin with storage underneath and a medicine cabinet.
  • Anselm Hall: This is a mixed-use hall with a very limited number of residential private rooms and semi-private suites available for undergraduates with a minimum junior status. Each student has one each - desk, chair, desk lamp, chest of drawers, bookcase, dining table, dining chair, standard twin size bed complete with mattress, and window treatments as needed.

Amenities: Halls

Although designed differently, each Undergraduate Residence Hall has the following basic elements:

  • Two common bathroom facilities (one per floor)
  • a lounge/TV area
  • a laundry room with card operated washers and dryers
  • kitchen facility.

Amenities: Rooms

All Undergraduate Residence Hall rooms have:

  • Standard twin-size (39"x76") bed(s)
  • desk(s)
  • chair(s)
  • closet and drawer space for each resident
  • wash basin with storage space beneath
  • medicine cabinet
  • limited book shelving
  • window blinds
  • carpeted rooms

FOOD SERVICE

All residents in living in the undergraduate halls are required to participate in the Real Food on Campus Program. Continuing residents may choose a 19, 14 or 10 meal per week plan. Sorry, the 10 meal plan is not available to first semester residents. No refunds for partial use are permitted. Participation in the Real Food on Campus Program is optional for Student Apartment residents. Student Apartment residents may also purchase commuter meal cards directly from the cafeteria.

During the summer sessions only the 19 meal plan is available for residents. Meals are not available during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and Spring breaks.

STUDENT APARTMENTS

Only continuing undergraduate upperclassmen with a minimum of 30 credit hours qualify to live in the on-campus student apartments for the 2008-2009 academic year. The apartment lottery that awards these apartments to current undergraduate students is held each spring during housing registration week in April for the upcoming academic year. Participation in a meal plan is optional for apartment residents. While basic furniture is provided, apartment residents are responsible for the setup and maintenance of electric and telephone accounts.



Housing for Non-Students

It is the policy of the University of Dallas to only house currently enrolled students who fall under the undergraduate residency requirement on campus. This policy also applies during the summer for individuals seeking temporary housing due to summer intership programs with local businesses.

Organizations seeking contracted group accommodations during the summer for summer camps, workshops, etc. should contact the Event Scheduling Coordinator at 972.721.5123 or by email here.
