One important thing for students and people interested in security to know is that there is a lot more to do in cybersecurity than knowing how to code. Cybersecurity has a need for strategic thinkers, leaders, who can distill a complicated domain into language that impacts how regular people live their lives. We need leadership and strategic skills to make sense of all of this and need to balance the field a little more, and that’s why the education I’m getting at UD is so valuable.”

Jeanine Dorrough, BA ’22, conceived the idea for First-Gen Ambassadors last fall, out of a desire to create leadership opportunities unique to first-gen students like herself who are the first in their families to go to college.

10.1.21 | Inauguration of our 10th President

The university will host the inaugural Mass and installation of Jonathan J. Sanford as the tenth president of the University of Dallas at its Irving campus on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at 5 p.m., followed by a special celebration for faculty, staff, volunteer leadership, alumni, parents and honored guests.
