Tom Foley

Adjunct Instructor of Management, Gupta College of Business

Developing, launching, and strategically building businesses is the common thread tying together Tom’s 25 years of professional work.

Tom started his career practicing law in New York, handling large civil litigation, mergers & acquisitions, as well as real estate and land use matters.  Throughout Tom’s professional experiences, he became acutely aware of systemic inequities.  These inequities sparked emotion and action. After actively practicing law for 15+ years, Tom founded Indigo Group, LLC to develop and launch social entrepreneurially businesses with the mission to close the gender and racial wealth gap as well as research bias to understand the scope, challenges, and detrimental impact of systemic, institutional, and individual biases.

Tom is partners with Chef Tiffany Derry in T2D Concepts, LLC, a hospitality group with purpose. Tom and Tiffany own and operate Roots Southern Table and Roots Chicken Shak.  The latter concept includes a franchise model designed to empower and create equitable opportunity for underrepresented communities.

Tom is a Fellow for the Dallas Economic Leadership Academy through the Aspen Institute and Of Counsel at Wright Connatser.

Tom earned his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. from Colgate University.  Tom lives in Dallas, TX with his wife, Roopa, and two children.
