Please be aware that you MUST order a cap and gown if you intend to walk in the graduation ceremony.

Important Notes:

  • Graduates must be registered. Contact your academic advisor to confirm you are on the graduation list.
  • ADA requests: To request a disability-related accommodation or wheelchair access information, please contact Luciana Hampilos at 972-721-5056 or, preferably at least a week in advance of the event. Please leave your name, contact information, and the number of people who need accommodations. You can also find more information at
  • Cap, gown and other commencement-related items may be ordered through Herff Jones. The deadline for ordering caps and gowns is November 1st. The bookstore will not have any caps or gowns in stock.
  • Graduates will not receive their official diplomas at the Commencement event. They will receive a diploma cover. The graduates will be able to pick up their diplomas at the Registrar’s Office in the weeks following graduation, or the Registrar will send the diploma through the mail. Please be on the lookout for information  regarding when diplomas may be picked up.
