Dr. Molly S.M. Peterson received her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Dallas and her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oregon, where her research focused on the development and characterization of dielectric meso- and nanoscale materials.
Dr. Peterson still has a fascination with the progression of nanoscale materials research, but her plans for a career in industrial research were sidetracked when she fell in love with classroom teaching her first semester at Tarrant County College. Her experience in chemistry education now includes a broad range of ages and styles including helping elementary and middle school teachers improve their physical science programs (NSF GK-12 program), writing online assessment and curriculum tools for high school and college level chemistry, developing a college level lab curriculum, and teaching college level coursework.
Dr. Peterson splits her time between family, curriculum development, and teaching. In addition to UD, she has taught courses at Tarrant County College, Northlake, Brookhaven, and at Cistercian Preparatory school.
