The University of Dallas recognizes that many students and families appreciate the convenience of using a credit or debit card; therefore, the University has made the decision to continue accepting credit and debit cards for payments through Transact Pay, our online payment system.
All credit and debit card payments for tuition, fees, and room/board will be subject to a 2.85% convenience fee for domestic cards and 4.25% for international cards. The minimum convenience fee for card transactions over $20 and less than $106 will be $3. We accept cash, check, electronic check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. There are no fees charged for electronic checks. Student Account Services will no longer accept credit or debit card payments in person in the Office of Finance or by telephone. For the convenience of the students, payment kiosks have been set up outside the Office of Finance for credit and debit card transactions. The Office of Finance is located on the first floor of Cardinal Farrell Hall.
A convenience fee is a fee charged to a credit or debit card user by the credit card processor. All fees collected on credit or debit card transactions are paid directly to the credit card processor. The University of Dallas does not receive any revenue from the fee.
In spite of the rising cost of credit and debit card processing fees, the university continues to accept credit and debit cards. In the past, the expense associated with processing credit and debit cards had been paid out of tuition and other revenue, which reduces the dollars available for academic programs and services for all students. Thus, a convenience used by some students was being funded by all students. To be able to continue offering this convenience, the costs associated with processing credit and debit card payments are charged to the credit or debit card user.
The convenience fee is 2.85% for domestic cards and 4.25% for international cards of the total payment amount. It will be charged to your credit or debit card when you choose the credit card payment option on Transact Pay. The fee is non-refundable, even if the payment is refunded.
