Dear UD Community,

Inclement weather is set to begin later today. We have made the decision to cancel all in-person classes that begin on or after 6pm today, Wednesday, February 2. In-person classes will also be canceled tomorrow, Thursday, February 3. An announcement of this is already being sent through our Emergency Notification System.

Any classes scheduled to start before 6pm today will be held as planned. Right now, we are planning to resume our regular schedule of classes on Friday.

As has been our practice, any modifications or changes to this plan will be communicated via text and phone through our Emergency Notification System. Additionally, status updates will be posted on our website and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).

A few additional details regarding campus closure:

  • In-person classes for all students will be cancelled as indicated above. Students taking online courses should continue as normal unless notified by their professor of any modifications. Faculty teaching online courses may, at their discretion, modify courses in response to the situation.
  • Employees should not come to campus and will not be required to work, but may work remotely from home if they are able.
  • As long as power and internet connectivity is available, virtual library services will be available Thursday, 9am-5pm. Reference librarians can be reached at reference@udallas.edu if anyone needs research assistance.

Based on the current forecast for the weekend, Groundhog festivities are expected to continue as planned.
