Accessibility Services

Welcome to UD!

The University of Dallas welcomes students, faculty, staff, and visitors with disabilities. University Accessibility Services (UAS) serves a coordinating role in the University's efforts to provide an accessible environment for all who come to the University. The University affirms St. John Paul's observation that "people with disabilities must be enabled to participate in social life as far as they can, and helped to fulfill all their physical, psychological and spiritual potential." If you or someone you or someone you know plans to visit the University, we are glad to assist to provide a more accessible environment and welcome any observations of areas where we can improve.

Visitors

Whether you are visiting the University to participate in a special event, considering attending as a student, or just stopping in to have a drink at the Cappucino Bar, the University is glad to help make the University more accessible. The primary point of contact for accessibility questions is the ADA/Section 504 Coordinator. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel to contact the Coordinator.

In addition, some special events will have additional University personnel appointed as points of contact for accessibility questions.

In order to more adequately provide accessibility assistance, the University asks that visitors with disabilities who plan to attend events on campus contact the ADA/Section 504 Coordinator at least 72 hours before the event. The University will then be able to provide reasonable accommodations to those requesting assistance.

Students

The University provides a wide variety of accommodations for students with disabilities so as to make the University's programs and activities available. You can find out more about student accommodations at Student Disability Services.

Staff and Faculty

The University also provides accommodations for staff and faculty with disabilities, which are arranged through the Human Resources Department. Staff and employees can find out more about and apply for disability accommodations by visiting the HR Department or by emailing benefits@udallas.edu.

In the spring of her senior year of high school at The Atonement Academy in San Antonio, as she approached UD's campus for her last visit, she knew she would spend the next four years there and shouted to her mom, "Look, that's my tower! That's my home!"

Given his strong UD legacy, Bill Bennett, BS '20, was practically destined to attend the University of Dallas. Stories about UD's Rome Program and rugby were essential aspects of Bennett's childhood given that both of his parents, as well as many extended relatives, are UD alumni. But while UD was in his blood, he ultimately chose UD because he wanted both a liberal arts education and a degree in physics, and he knew UD was the best place to combine the two.

Senior Story 2020: Business Major Pursues Cybersecurity

It is not uncommon for the University of Dallas (UD) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to get confused, and Adella Klinte, BA '20, was unfortunately subject to that confusion. When she applied to UD, Klinte thought she was applying to UTD. Crazy though it may seem, Klinte thinks it was God's plan all along.
