Students who have applied to UDallas with an interest in studying Education & Classical Learning may compete for the award.
Students are not necessarily required to major in Education & Classical Learning to receive or maintain the scholarship. Departmental scholarships are applied to tuition. A departmental scholarship may not be added on top of a full-tuition scholarship. Each student may apply for up to two departmental scholarship awards but may only receive one. To Apply for the Education & Classical Learning Department Scholarship, you must:
1. Apply for admission to University of Dallas.
2. Complete the Education & Classical Learning Departmental Scholarship Application and attach any supplemental material to the online application OR email to admissions@udallas.edu.
3. Submit a short essay (400-600 words) answering these questions:
"If you could pursue a career in education, what would you like to do? What interests
you about a career in education?"
4. Submit a letter of recommendation from your high school or college teacher.
5. Submit a resume.
Once you have completed your application you will be instructed on how to schedule
an interview with the Education & Classical Learning Department.
Renewability Criteria:
The Education & Classical Learning Department Scholarship is renewable annually for four consecutive school years, dependent upon the student's academic performance and the criteria stated below:
1. Fulfill general scholarship renewal criteria.
2. Students will be required to take 12 credits from the Department of Education
& Classical Learning over four years.
3. Students must receive no less than a B (3.0) for each course taken in the Department
of Classical Education & Learning toward the fulfillment of the scholarship.
