My name is Suchitra Veera and I live with my family in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am the mother of two middle and high school age children. I have been an adjunct instructor for over ten years, teaching capstone strategy courses, as well as information systems, technology and project management courses. I have taught business and IT related graduate and undergraduate level courses on-campus, online, as a corporate trainer within companies and also at professional associations such as the Project Management Institute. I have been providing consulting services in the DFW area as a Scrum Master and Project Manager for retail, banking/financial services, manufacturing, and Travel IT companies. I have worked with teams delivering business analytics, business intelligence, application development and systems integration projects. I was an Education Director for the Dallas PMI Chapter and currently am the newsletter editor for the Academy of Management Technology and Innovation Management Division.

Earlier, I worked as a Systems Manager for eleven years for a manufacturing company in the mid-west, leading projects to impact business outcomes in a positive manner by leveraging information technology. My work included managing SAP financial systems, the development and deployment of online cockpit reports, the streamlining of business processes and building systems for e-commerce and retailing, and managing outsourcing relationships with suppliers. Prior to that I had the experience of working for regional and local public agencies, during which time I was involved in developing long range plans on the one hand, and analyzing demographic and student population distributions and projections for a school district on the other.

I am certified as a project management professional (PMP), certified Scrum master, and in the ITIL (IT Infrastructure library) processes. I also have Six Sigma Green Belt and Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence certifications from the American Society for Quality. I have an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree from the University of Reading (UK), in Business and Management Research. I am currently working on my Doctor of Business Administration degree and am in the process of writing my dissertation for completion of my doctoral degree requirements.

My interests include volunteering and acting as a Coach for kids' activities in the area of education, STEM, public speaking/debate and leadership building. I like to practice my public speaking skills, and was a member of Toastmasters for many years, besides engaging in presenting at webinars, colloquia and conferences. I also like to travel in conjunction with professional conferences or my children's educational or competitive events, in addition to leisure travel.
